Natural Stones

Granite

Granite is a coarse-grained rock composed mainly of quartz, feldspar and a variety of minerals which contribute to its color. Granite is difficult to damage and nearly impossible to scratch. It is also heat resistant, but polished surfaces must be sealed to protect the beauty of this natural stone.

Exotic Granite

Our exclusive exotic granite collection offers the best selection of exotic ornamental stones from Brazil. (Call to see the availability of stones)

Soapstone

Soapstone traditionally used in colonial New England for woodstoves, bathtubs, countertops, sinks and fireplace hearths, soapstone has become very popular in today's families busy lifestyle because of its durability and easy maintenance. Made up of mineral deposits such as talc, dolomite and magnetite, soapstone is a great choice for cookware, cooktops, oven floors, masonry heaters and fireplaces liners. The reasons for soapstone's popularity are its durability and good looks. Soapstone is not a "fussy" stone and fits into a family's busy lifestyle. CCS offers exclusive "facepolished soapstone", directly from Brazil.

Limestone

Limestone is a sedimentary rock formed from the mineral calcite at the bottom of lakes by the sea animals shells that secrete lime such as algae and coral. Generally these soft beiges, tans and grays are suitable for bathrooms, fireplaces, counters and floors. CCS offers exclusive limestone from north east part of Brazil, both slabs and tiles.

Slate

Slate is such a hard, durable stone that it has traditionally been used as a roofing material. However, slate has many other advantages - stain resistance and water resistance, non-skid surfacing, and affordability - making it ideal for almost any application, including interior and exterior flooring, paving, stair treads, wall cladding, tabletops, countertops, bathroom vanities, showers and more. Brazilian slate is the only kind that comes in a slab big enough to use as a kitchen counter.

Travertine

Travertine is a white concretionary form of calcium carbonate that is usually hard and semi crystalline. It is deposited from the water of mineral springs, especially hot springs. The largest building in the world constructed largely of travertine is the Coliseum in Rome, Italy. Most travertine used as decorative stone is a white, tan or cream colored, fairly dense rock that consists largely of calcite. Travertine can be used on counter tops, vanities and flooring. CCS offers exclusive travertine from Bahia called Crema Brazil.

Solid Surface Products

Corian®

Corian® by DuPont™ allows you to create a space as individual as you are, with inlays, seamless backsplashes, and inline sinks. Because Corian® is nonporous, stains do not penetrate the surface and resists the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. Corian® is also heat and scratch resistant.

Bring the luxurious look of granite into your home or business facility with Earthstone®, the natural alternative to natural stone. Earthstone boasts the beauty of granite with the perfomance of solid surface. It is 1/2 inch thick and 100% acrylic based.
